Fatimah Alyami was Born in Saudi Arabia and raised in a huge family. In 2010, she received her Bachelors of Early Childhood Education. After graduation, Fatimah traveled many miles from Saudi Arabia to pursue her Masters in Visual Art Education degree at the University of Cincinnati, College of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning, USA.

Fatimah began making origami at the age of six. She recalls: “I had ease with folding a piece of paper into different shapes. Origami was my form of artistic expression; back then, serenity and simplicity were my primary goals. I never dreamed that I would one day grow up to be an artist.”

In her art education graduate studies at The University of Cincinnati, Fatimah’s early interests in serenity and simplicity have developed into socially engaged artistic inquiries that integrate feminist theories, art historical knowledge, and fine arts practices. In addition to the live-performance methods used, she works in a variety of media, including photography, sculpture, and video.
