Integrating Creative Expression In The Later Years of Life

Project Title : Teacups

A Collaboration between Saudi Arabian Students Association & Against The Grain Scholar Students

Being a leader and an artist can be very challenging, but my point is always more ambitious that leadership can be an art, both "can give us perspective on our social condition (good or bad) and greater appreciation of our world, ourselves, and our choices."

In 2015, I had my SASA members and ATGS students working together on a project called "teacups" project. Its aim was to bring Creative Potential to old people at Harmony Court Nursing Home in Cincinnati.

In this project, SASA had tastefully decorated the teacups, and the ATGS had poured Arabic tea into the cups and passed it to the residents.

Social Practice Art

Project Title: A Moment of  Love

"Creating a deeply participatory art that often flourishes outside the gallery and museum system"

For this social practice, I reserved a space in a diverse, and multicultural environment at the University of Cincinnati. Instead of using the space to paint or display, I invited both UC community  and Xavier community to experience a Moment of Love, the experience of immigration and exile, spirituality, the environment, food, health, longing, and more.
